When designing this cover, my initial thought was for a teenager gazing out at a busy starport as he longed for adventure... but somehow it morphed into a younger child whose gaze rests on just one ship. Is he wishing for the return of his captain mother? Is he yearning for adventure himself? There is a story in this cover and that is what makes it so intriguing! With enough details and to catch the eye and the lovely contrast between blue and the orange lights, this cover draws a reader in.
The paperback wrap continues the high tech background to the left, creating a second viewing window that continues the room while providing space for the spine and back text.
